River Ridge Inn vs. COVID 19

What hasn't already been said about COVID 19? What you have heard is important and could be lifesaving. At River Ridge Inn, we listened; and then, we took action River Ridge Inn has always taken pride in our cleanliness and being orderly. Along comes Coronavirus and we immediately took action to make sure we were executing the recommended guidelines for doing what we could to fight off the delivery and spreading of COVID 19. We were surprised to learn that we had been performing many of the cleanliness and sanitation guidelines as a standard practice, but one can always do better.

We would like to share with you the actions that we needed to "bone-up" on.

Assure that all employees know the symptom of the virus. Do Not bring it to work!

Inventory sanitation and cleaning supplies were at a premium. There was a need to establish a continuous replacement supply for each agent (yes, including toilet paper.)

Establish a cleaning and disinfecting process for each and every unit that our guests might use and, assure all employees were aware of the procedures and practices for sanitation.

Provide instructions for all guests to abide by relative to the use of the hot tub, sauna, and exercise area. A restriction placed on the number of people using either at any one time. Emphasize that closed in areas are the most vulnerable areas to spread disease. We discourage it.

Develop room recovery procedures in the event of a known or suspected COVID 19 case.

Preach hand washing and physical distancing and don't be afraid to remind others.

Finally, wearing face masks/shields must follow state-directed guidelines. We are fortunate to be located in one of the least affected areas in the USA (knock on wood). The open outdoors is right outside your door, but don't get complacent.

With Covid crisis looming, and a need to have a safe change of scenery, we thought we’d take a drive up from Hot Springs, AR and stay socially distanced while enjoying sone fishing. I had been forewarned that the river may be high and running fast. A referral from my brother brought us to meet Jim and Liz at River Ridge. Our ‘cabin’ was a full house with master king bed downstairs in addition to a beautiful sleep lift upstairs as well as a fold out futon in the master bedroom. Our deck provided a gas and a charcoal grill. The neat view of the river and the fishing dock was gorgeous and although we caught zero fish, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on the gorgeous grounds. The place was immaculate, extremely comfortable and Jim very helpful with fishing tips (we are both novices). A lot of privacy complimented by the rushing river and changing fog below. We hope to travel back and learn some new tricks if there’s room for us in the fall. I understand corporate retreats take place here at The River Ridge Flyfishing Academy. Thoroughly recommend!! Cabin was very clean, and the grounds along the river are lovely and perfectly maintained. The owner could not have been more helpful with making sure we had everything necessary to grill on the deck.

The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, very peaceful. The rooms were in excellent condition and very clean. The views of the river are wonderful. The owners were very hospitable and met our every need. We will definitely return to the resort.
